In the summer term, Year 5 take part in Bikeability, a valuable nationwide scheme that aims to ensure children have the necessary skills to cycle safely on the road. Throughout the training, the children enhance their proficiency on the road by increasing their self awareness, increasing their knowledge of maintaining bikes and fostering responsible cycling habits.
The expert trainers provide them with the necessary knowledge and guidance to confidently navigate road situations on their bicycles.
We feel this has helped promote safe, independent travel. By learning to cycle safely, our children can more confidently make the journey to school on bicycle, subsequently assisting in reducing congestion and promoting a healthier life cycle. This can also be tracked on our WOW Travel Tracker.
