Keeping Safe

At St Antony's, we want our children to be responsible users of the internet, protecting their own data and always using the internet appropriately.

We consider this a fundamental aspect of our safeguarding of children in our care. As a result, we work with all E-safety incidents inside of school and also issues outside of school that are brought to our attention.

In order to keep our children safe, we educate them about the best way to use the internet as well as the potential dangers children can be exposed to.

E-saftey is a fundamental part of the curriculum and is primarly taught through our computing curriculum which follows the national centre for computing education scheme of work which in turn has links to project evolve, links to which can be found here

If there are any e-safety issues your child or yourself is concerned about please contact our designated safeguard lead, head teacher or class teacher all of whom can be found on our who's who page.

National Online Safety have also prepared some great resources that you can access through this link. Some of these resources may need you to create an account in order to view them but it's quick and easy!

Marilyn Hawes did an online session to speak to the children about staying safe online and Cyberbullying in December 2023.

In March 2023 she delivered online sessions for parents.

Many of the children were shocked by what Marilyn had to say, but some Year 5 and 6 pupils admitted to having 500+ friends on social networking sites! The message was a much-needed wake-up call for them to look at their privacy settings and be more vigilant about who they are speaking to online!

Byron from The JJ Effect came in with the local community group Shad Chefs and delivered a presentation to our year 5 and year 6 children, some high school children came down from Our Lady and St John's. The presentation is one of the UK's most powerful and hard hitting anti-knife crime presentations.
