This year, we have forged new partnerships with Wigan Rugby League Football Club, Lancashire Cricket and British Gymnastics who will all be aiding our PE and school sport delivery within school and will also be aiding the professional development of school staff.

Coach Marcus (above) started off as a casual Sports Coach whilst also working for Edstart Specialist Education. Having seen first hand the impact Edstart had on children, Marcus decided he wanted to take the organisation further by starting his own franchise. Marcus is passionate about developing individuals, not just in sport but also as a person. Marcus wants to make a positive impact on as many children as possible within his area.

In December, we offered a PE & School Sport survey to all of our children about their favourite things about PE and school sport and things that could be improved. See our results on the below link.

We will repeat the survey each term so look out for the link here and on Class Dojo school story!

From September 2016, St Antony's adopted the initiative introduced by Elaine Wyllie across Scotland, Belgium and the Netherlands. Every child at St Antony's, from Year 1 through to Year 6, takes part in 'The Daily Mile' during the course of the afternoon. The aim of the Daily Mile is to improve the physical, emotional and social health and wellbeing of our children, regardless of age or personal circumstances. We have seen great success over the course of the autumn term, children compete against their own personal record to complete more 'laps' of the playground each day. Hopefully, now that our children are improving their fitness so rapidly - we can now look towards working together as parents and staff to join the band wagon!
