St Antony’s R.C. Primary School

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is allocated to schools under the terms of Section 14 of the Education Act 2002.

The Pupil Premium provides additional funding on top of the main funding a school receives. It is targeted at students from disadvantaged backgrounds to ensure they benefit from the same opportunities as their peers.

In the 2021-2022  financial year, schools will receive funding for each primary-aged pupil registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years. Schools will also receive funding for each looked-after pupil who has been looked after for 1 day or more, was adopted from care on or after 30th December 2005, or left care under a special guardianship or residence order.

Due to the Covid pandemic, schools will also receive Catch-up funding in order to address the issues arising from lockdowns. This funding will be used to get children mentally ready to learn again, and then learn effectively.

Pupils whose parents are in the armed services are also entitled to a Service Premium.

At St Antony’s school there are 86 children with entitlement to Pupil Premium funds for the financial year 2021-2022. This represents 41% of pupils currently on roll.
