Spring 1A - Street Detectives!

This half term we went out and about to discover what life is like in our local area of Shadsworth.

Why do we need books?

In english we read the story of 'Dogger' by Shirley Hughes. We talked about the different emotions Dave felt. We sequenced the story and used the pictures to help us retell the story.

We have learnt how they baked bread in a bakery during 'the olden days!' - in history we found out the there were no big supermarkets. Instead you had to visit individual shops like the fishmongers, tailors, butchers etc.

We followed a map of Shadsworth on our walk and back at school drew on the route that we took.

Our first gold book children in 2020!

We read the story 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers. We used the ideas in the book to write our own story about a lost toy in Shadsworth.
