LEARNING ZONE ...
English - Fact Files
We have been using Learn Pads to research the different types of teeth we have. We then used our research to create some fact files which we have now sent off to the local dentists!
Science - Teeth
We have been looking at plaque and how plaque builds up on our teeth. We brushed our teeth and then we each had a plaque tablet which dyed our teeth, where the plaque was most evident, to see where we need to brush our teeth more!
Geography - Maps and Symbols
We worked as a class to try and match some ordinance survey symbols with their names. It was trickier than it looked!!
R.E - Community
We worked in small groups to act out the different roles of people within our communities.
Mathematics - Rounding
We completed our rounding activity outdoors today!!
World Book Day - Friday 6th March 2020
Art and Design - Drawing
Mrs Duxbury has worked her magic with us today. We completed a step by step drawing of skulls!!
Science - Tooth Decay
Our focus this half term is tooth decay. In order to show what tooth decay does to our teeth, we set up a fair test. A fair test is when you carry out a test where you change only 1 variable. In our test, we used hard boiled eggs (boiled for the same amount of time) to represent our teeth. We then submerged them into different substances - milk, tea, coffee, water, juice and fizzy pop (the same amount in each). We left them in the same area and checked on them each day! Here are our before pictures.
Each day when we checked on the eggs, we could see a difference! In fact, we saw a huge difference within 2 hours of submerging them. Here is a picture of the eggs after 1 WEEK of being submerged in these substances!!
