Summer 1 Year B - Potions
In English we have written instructions for our own magical potions. We made sure our commands were clear and concise.
We even got to make our potions which proved to be so much fun.
We wrote advertisements for our potions, using persuasive language features.
We have been creating our own potion bottles using mod-roc.
In History we are exploring how medicines have changed over time. We have been looking into how the discovery of anaesthetic was a significant turning point in the way operations became more advanced.
We have been reading Shakespeare's famous "Romeo and Juliet" in our reading lessons. The children have been making inferences as to why the characters acted in the way they did. We made predictions about what the ending was going to be! Many were shocked and saddened by the tragedy.
We have then role played alternative endings and wrote it as a playscript.
In our sketch books we designed our own masks for the masquerade ball Romeo and Juliet attended.
"Blessed are those who believe and have not yet seen."
In Science we have been learning about the 3 states of matter, solid, liquid and gas! We looked at how a chemical reaction occurred and a gas was created. This half term we have also been developing our understanding of the concept of fair testing.
This half term the focus in PE is Athletics.
