Welcome to our Home Page where you will find our daily routines.

Homework comprises of the following:

Daily reading of at least 15 minutes is encouraged to increase children's reading progress. Home reading is monitored on a regular basis to ensure children are reading interesting books with an appropriate level of challenge. Children have been provided with Reading Records where both school and home can record the reading journey.

We continue to have a big push on reading as it is vital that the children develop the skills needed so that they begin high school with strong fluency and comprehension. Each half term, each child receives a book mark which they have to collect stars for. Those children who are successful in completion will be rewarded with a special treat .

Times tables

It is important that all children are practising their multiplications regularly. We complete a multiplications challenge every Friday where the children are given 10 minutes to complete as many sums as they can!! Try to practise your times tables as often as you can and regularly log into Times Table Rock Stars.

Children can log in to Mathletics at home. It is tailored to each individual child and the level that they are currently working at. We aim to consolidate and extend their understanding of the concepts we have been studying in class by regular practise on Mathletics.

P.E day this half term is - THURSDAY!  It is essential that all children wear a P.E kit on the day they are completing a P.E lesson.
Our school P.E kit consists of: black shorts, black pumps and a t-shirt in their house colour.

Class Dojo is an online platform that we use in school in a number of different ways. We share snap shots of your child's learning across the curriculum and also post messages and reminders on a daily basis. There is a private messaging service that parents can contact the teaching team on. We endeavour to reply to all messages at our earliest convenience. Class Dojo also allows you to track your child's weekly successes as they strive to become the top Dojo point scorer. Dojo points are awarded for showing casing great habits for learning, showing kindness, completing homework etc. Children can then use their points to 'purchase' prizes or save them up for bigger rewards! Please ensure that you are connected to the Year 6 Class Dojo page and also have access to the school main account.

Inspire, Motivate and Overcome (IMO) Charity

IMO visit school each Monday to deliver their resilience project. The project involves a variety of activities where the children learn new skills,  engage in discussions on topical subjects  and are introduced to alternative thinking patterns. This is very much a highlight of the week.

Our Termly Topics

We have made some exciting changes to our curriculum this year to ensure it is knowledge rich. In each subject we have identified key knowledge we feel are important for the children to remember.  To help your child retain the facts, uploaded are some subject specific knowledge organisers. They are a summary of the key facts and essential knowledge needed to be known for a particular unit of work in a subject.
