Year B Summer 2 - The Enchanted Woodland
If you go down in the woods today you're sure of a big surprise! Foxes, badgers, hedgehogs and beady-eyed owls in the swaying tree tops. Beneath the leaves are tiny footprints...animal or imp? You decide! Deciduous or Evergreen? What can you find? Can you match a leaf to its tree? Can you name some common flowers? Let's build a den, stick by stick and branch by branch. Or we could make a tiny home for a woodland fairy. At last its time to rest by the woodland fire, listening to stories and toasting our sweet gooey marshmallows, yum yum!
We loved exploring our school woods to find different natural materials to use to make woodland crowns.
In art we collected leaves from our woods with interesting shapes and patterns and created collages using a leaf rubbing technique.
We learned about the difference between Deciduous and Evergreen trees. We went out tree spotting to see if we could identify different trees based on their leaves.
We also collected leaves to make tree collage pictures
