Curriculum Overview
We want our children to be fluent readers with a great understanding of vocabulary and author intent. Most importantly, we want our pupils to love reading! We use research evidenced practice to ensure we fulfil our mission in the most effective way. We believe fluency is key for reading and we dedicate time to teaching these skills daily. This includes reading across the curriculum building our knowledge of Tier 1 (everyday common words), Tier 2 (more ambitious words that you may come across when reading widely) and Tier 3 (more rarely used subject specific words).
